In Appreciation of Trees

Oxygen cleansing, life-giving exchange of energy. Deep thanks to the trees. Time spent in the woods with trees is never time wasted.

Just breathe! The rich scent of the lodgepole pine and aspen forest that range across the rolling foothills of the Rocky Mountains soothes the soul. Home.


Shoulders relax. Chest eases. All else falls away. Being. Breathing. Held in the embrace of the branches, soothed by the wind-song of the stirring boughs. The world around seems right and whole, if only for these minutes spent with the trees.


Time spent with trees is time well spent.


 

When everything seems locked in place and you

find your path forward is blocked due to worries and anxiety.


There are iridescent shades of green and grey and purple and rust in pine forests. The colours shift depending on how the light strikes them. When we are drawn to this shifting in shades, lights and colours, it can often be a reminder to be aware of the shifting and intensifying of emotions. A reminder that it may be time to take a step back and see if there is a balanced, wellness-bringing way to handle things.


If we take a look at what is going on in our life, change perspective and look again, maybe things will shift depending on this renewed perspective and we will see things clearly. If it is time to request outside help to rebalance the emotions, clear the anxiety, if there is difficulty seeing the way clear, another's perspective can be enlightening.


Pine trees work for me.


The essence of the tree, the scent of pine is very therapeutic for unbalanced and intense emotions. Breathing deeply with intention while in a pine forest, or even under a large pine tree, can bring a state of calmness, an inner rebalancing of emotion. This scent, a primal forest scent, inspires a desire to release old, destructive feelings. Clearing them away. It helps us find new, creative ways of moving forward, before the imbalance affects the physical body.


Time spent with pines trees is never time wasted.
